Rushika founded Holos in 2019 with a goal to deliver projects which were uncompromisingly detail-oriented and in which the architecture, site, and interiors were seamless and inseparable. Her holistic approach to design has morphed over 11 years of experience in the industry and a lifetime of travel and varied cultural influences, fostering a deep understanding of how architecture is connected to place.
“Memorable architecture is a product of meaningful experiences, one that creates a sense of place for the patron.”
Rushika was born in India and shaped by a vibrant childhood in East Africa where she grew up traveling between the two continents before settling in the States. Further, she studied architecture across Europe during her semester abroad in Krakow, forging a unique, cross-continental design sensibility. Through her excursions she continues to explore the importance of design in anthropology and how humans are shaped by their built environment.
“Rocks, trees, water, the sky, are also components of a home’s enclosure. To restore nature’s prime connection through the fusion of architecture and site is the main goal here.”

Rushika’s passion for architecture pushed her to start collecting field experience well before graduation. Through architectural residencies at reputed firms like HCP Design in India, Gresham, Smith & Partners, and Red Chair Architects, she had the opportunity – from the outset of her career – to be involved in multiple award-winning projects like Sabarmati Riverfront, Maynard H. Jackson International Terminal at ATL Airport, Monterey High School, Lentz Public Health Center, among others.
Her professional journey took her to San Francisco where she was directly involved in the design and management of residential projects of various scales from multi-family affordable housing projects, to luxury mountain homes and interiors. It was here that she discovered her call to work on projects intimate in scale, where a sense of belonging is cultivated for the client to their home, and for the home to its site.
Through Holos, Rushika seeks to distill this breadth of experience to create thoughtful mountain, island and prefab homes rooted in biophilic design, enabling humans to connect with nature through the power of architecture.
