Holos Architecture’s Ocean Park Moderne project was featured in Dwell’s special editorial series spotlighting budget-conscious renovations.
The article showcases the transformation of an awkward transitional hallway in Ocean Park Moderne into a lush, jungle-inspired home bar, complete with custom Bocci lighting, botanical wallpaper, and brassy textures. Completed for under $4,000, the project shows how small spaces and budgets can deliver a big impact.
“Dwell usually features very high-end design, so it was exciting to see them feature this space,” said Rushika Gill, AIBC, NCARB, Principal of Holos Architecture. “They specifically asked for a cost breakdown, which shows how much interest there is right now in budget-friendly, high-design work. We were proud to show what can be achieved with creativity and restraint.”
This marks Holos’ first feature in Dwell and its first time pitching a project for publication.
“It’s showing us that even our smaller, personal work can resonate,” said Gill. “We have such a promising future, and many more projects in the works—so we’re definitely looking forward to more features to come.”
