Holos Architecture Joins Green Village & Ag Tent Speaker Series at SJC Fair 2025

Rushika Gill, Principal of Holos Architecture + Design, will present at the San Juan County Fair’s Green Village & AG Tent Speaker Series at the San Juan County Fair.

The event is part of a four-day program that gathers local experts and community members to explore environmental stewardship across the San Juan Islands.

Gill’s session, “Principles of Biophilic Design in Residential Architecture”, takes place Saturday, August 16, at 2:00 p.m. and explores how integrating elements of nature into your home can enhance well-being.

“We’re excited to have an open dialogue about what sustainability efforts are working well and what we can introduce into homes to bring a different perspective to environmental awareness across the island,” said Gill. “I’ll be sharing ideas for integrating biophilic principles into home design, with practical takeaways for anyone looking to create a space that’s more connected to nature and more aligned with these goals.”

Holos brings these ideas to life across a range of projects, including off-grid cabins, heritage renovations, and resource-conscious coastal homes.

“I’m also looking forward to connecting with off-grid residents to hear what technologies have been most useful, and what challenges they continue to face,” added Gill. “These lived experiences help us design more responsive, resilient homes.”

Catch Gill’s talk on Saturday, August 16, at 2:00 p.m. in the Green Village tent.
